On weekend evenings it is advisable.
Not anymore. Not since the construction to the north. Maybe once that is done, but I don't think so
They don't have happy hour
What David said. Street parking may not be easy, but the parking structure is really close and convenient
Absolutely delicious. Probably the best restaurant in Evanston. It is worth going with a group of friends in order the try everything or as much as possible. The bacon-wrapped dates are an absolute must! The mussels and also the goat cheese are great plates too. Always try the specials, since they are often unique. And finally, get a pitcher (or more) of red sangria!!
If planning a lunch date, small plates are larger than you'd expect. Probably only need 3-4 dishes to be full, so it's pretty affordable. They also give you free bread to start. Everything was pretty good, vegetables we're fresh and the puff pastry was done well. Only thing bad was the eggplant was unavailable and that's limited the options for vegetarians.
We love hanging out. Last night we found this magnificent place which we didn’t know before. We spent a delightful experience there with very good dishes and a courteous team and a talented cook. We put this venue in our phone list and we shall definitely return soon. Highly recommended.
Delicious food and excellent service and atmosphere. Great for groups so that you can try lots of dishes. The baked goat cheese, potatoes, and croquettes are personal favorites! Paella is also a great dish to order because it's more filling.
Great variety of tapas at very reasonable prices! The atmosphere and staff are amazing! I've been coming here for over 7 years, and they always treat you like family
Great food and service at very reasonable prices. Went with a group of five and had a little bit of everything on the menu. Definitely go back. I rarely give five stars, but this place on that night was deserving of it.
Accessible menu items, easy to get to, easy parking, nice wait staff, open for both indoor and outside seating, besides a bar. A good choice.
Multiple excellent reasonably priced entrees. Nice atmosphere. Polite efficient waiters.
This is my favourite restaurant since moving to this area! Recommend to all.
Great variety and prompt service.
Everything here is absolutely delicious.
Excellent tapas, good choice of wines, the atmosphere is good and service efficient. They should only change the playlist and play more contemporary Spanish music.
Delicious food and excellent service and atmosphere. Great for groups so that you can try lots of dishes. The baked goat cheese, potatoes, and croquettes are personal favorites! Paella is also a great dish to order because it's more filling.
I had heard many people speak highly of this place and I finally got a chance to go myself. To my surprise it lived up to the hype!Decor and ambiance are lovely. The service was good. The menu gives you a splendid variety of items from various tapas plates to desserts and plenty of alcohol. Finally, the food was great. The flavors were unique, at least to me, and the portions and pricing not bad for a tapas place. I really enjoyed the food and am excited to return and try many other dishes.I think this is a great place for dinner with friends or of course for a date. Cheers!
Great variety of hot and cold tapas. Everything was delicious and high quality. Quick and friendly service. Making a reservation was easy and being seated was very quick.
Delicious tapas with great service. Incredibly affordable and perfect place for a get together with friends, family, or a date
As a Spanish cuisine specialist, I recognise the effort but the food unfortunately does not meet a real Spanish restaurant standards
Always solid tapas. They often some unique specials, but they nail the standards all the time. Reasonable prices for food and drink. Can get very busy, so for groups and weekend nights, reservations are recommended. Out kids love it too, as they can try a few different things, or if not feeling adventurous, they also have pizzas!
Great Food .. great service ...can be as cheap or expensive as you want. Amazing experience. Definitely a must visit.
Walked in without reservation and they were kind enough to accommodate a table for 2, no wait a all, their tapas are full of flavor and their Sangria it's amazing, recommend getting a pitcher, service is quick and dessert are great
The food's not great, but it's passable. Menu items available without dairy and gluten. The service is quite friendly; ambiance is comfortable, casual, relaxed, dimly- lighted. I like the look of the place.
I've been coming here for 23 years. Always perfect! The bacon wrapped dates are a must!
Excellent food and very good pricing too. Very friendly staff and nice authentic Spanish atmosphere. This is my go to place for a dinner snack after a walk by the lake.
Great tapas place for the area, reminded me of Spain. Offered a variety of cold and hot tapas as well as a good selection of beverages. Indoor/Outdoor seating.
The place is very cute and the food is fine, but the atmosphere is very strange. We walked in and were asked if we had a reservation 3+ times by several individuals (we did not), including twice by the host. When we said we did not, there seemed to be a huge commotion, people went to the back, pointed our way and we waited by the door for them to figure it out. To be clear, there was no wait, with 8+ tables open and the entire time we dined there, maybe four other people came in, so I don't think we disturbed a huge party. Our waiter seemed annoyed/agitated as well, and I had to ask for our bread bowl, which was thrust at us mid speed-walk across the restaurant. Similarly, we seemed to be a bother having our water refilled, getting ~a single sip added to our glasses. All in all, a very weird experience. Like I said food was okay, but not going out of the way to feel this uncomfortable again.
A good Tapas place is a rare treat, and Tapas Barcelona achieves that, as well as having a great location. The wide selection of menu options at reasonable prices means there's something for every appetite and every budget. Don't be dismayed by the long cook time for the paella; it's delicious with just the right amount of sauce. My personal favorite is the Lamb, which is flavorful and tender, and comes atop a mound of couscous.
I love this place, the closest to Spanish food I tried so far, and good price.
The food is excellent. Located in the downtown Evanston area, this restaurant is a must try place. The restaurant isn't all that big, so there might be a wait during dinner hours. There is a full service bar with many choices from cocktails, beer, and wine; all priced well. The food is tapas style, as the name suggests. It is small servings of food so I highly recommend ordering at least two or more plates. The quality of the food is great. Everything I ordered came out hot, fresh, and flavorful. Everything from the seafood to the meat dishes were made to perfection. The ingredients harmonize with one another. There is a very cozy atmosphere. The servers are top notch; very friendly and welcoming. Restaurant is very clean. Restrooms are clean. Street parking available nearby. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Excellent food, especially the bacon-wrapped dates and sangria. Reservations highly suggested, though.
Tried the mango salad, octopus and tilapia. They all taste amazing. Have been there more then 5 times and still love the place
Great place and food! Yumm
two days ago was our first time we visited this magnificent restaurant. But It is obviously not the last. We enjoyed the evening a lot with the courteous service, with the fine cuisine and booze and with the comfortable pay. We will absolutely come back again.
Great atmosphere. The restaurant was very busy so the waiter didn’t give us too much attention. Food tasted great and the price was fair. However, the restaurant didn’t offer too many options for ham and cheese, which I was very looking forward to.
¡La comida es muy buena (the food is very good)! ¡El personal es fantastico (The staff is fantastic)! It's nice to try so many different items.
Excellent food! Great service. Try the lamb empanada, goat cheese and the mussels (3 of our favs)
This is some of the best food I have ever eaten. I've been at tapus restaurants all over the world this is one of my favorites. Even compared against the ones in Spain. Can't wait to go there again.
I do not think I’ve found a place with good understanding of tapas like this one. It is essentially a tapas bistro. Fun but not fancy, great portions and price points. The decor takes you back to Barca. Everything we tasted was great. Get the grilled squid with lemon, the pan con tomate is perfection in simplicity.
This site is my number one place. Of all restaurants I know I prefere it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to visit this restaurant. everytime I I need a good supper, this is the place that comes right away to my mind. fresh and all sorts of food and a large list of dishes.courteous crew, and good spirit. Also important, the tariff is modest. I recommend this restaurant with no doubt.
Great local place to stop and eat. Their food is great and their portions are generous! The restaurant itself is not that big so it can get crowded sometimes but it’s still worth it. They also have outdoor seating in the summer!
The food in here is really good. We had grilled beef tenderloin, grilled squid and gambas and they are very flavorful and the meat is very tender which is the best part of the dining experience. The downside in this place is that the serving is really small and I don't recommend eating here is you're really hungry. The dessert is also good and serving is bigger.
Tapas Barcelona. Amazing restaurant! Food is so delicious and fresh, we couldn’t stop ordering more and more tapas. The waiter was very nice too. His name is David (or Dave?) We don’t usually order dessert but this time we decided to try - omg! that was fabulous (banana something)) Thank you guys for a beautiful evening.
A good venue for both small and large group meetings. The plate portions are quite small so there's the fun of ordering multiple items to enjoy. The bacon date dish seems to be one of the most popular one. The octopus dish was also very enjoyable. The paella is much larger though. It was more than enough for three people to share.
It is hands down one of the best places to eat in Evanston as well as Chicago too.You can order a bunch of small portioned foods, so you can taste variety without burning a hole in your pocket. Between me an my friend, we ordered bacon wrapped dates with goat cheese, chicken breasts with spinach, lamb chops with cous cous and Chicken and sausage skewer with saffron rice.Honestly I cannot decide which one of those was my favorite. You can also compliment your food with wine straight from Spain..And yeah the bread is to die for.
Really well done tapas.
At the first moment you arrive in that restaurant the waiters give you a nice feeling. Very friendly hosts, it is a nice restaurant to enjoy with friends or with your date. Excellent meals, skillful chef, honest cost and attentive service. Highly recommended.
Great Spanish restaurant! Like here a lot.
Delicious menu and good vibes.
This restaurant is simply amazing. The food is exceptional.Service is good too with knowledgeable staff.
We enjoy going out. Yesterday we visited this fine place which friends recommended to us. We enjoyed a beautiful time there with fine cooking and a well-trained stuff and a talented cuisine. We put this fine restaurant in our list and we shall definitely visit again very soon. We warmly recommend.
Food is incredible and the people are very friendly! I highly recommend.
